How do I enable allowlist? (app)

Allowlist enhances the security of your withdrawal. With this feature enabled, you can only withdraw to addresses saved in your address book. To add a new address, simply add it to your address book prior to withdrawing.

If your account is compromised, the extra layer of protection will prevent you from withdrawing funds to any unauthorized addresses.

Getting started

  1. Open your OKX App, go to Assets > Withdraw.

2. Select your preferred withdrawal method (Withdraw crypto) > select the Asset you'd like to withdraw > Select destination.

3. Select Address book > select Address Settings in the top-right corner > you can either enable the Allowlist only or enable the New address withdrawal lock at the same time.

Note: when adding address, you can save the network selected as a universal address to withdraw other crypto from this network.

4. You can either enter the address or select the address in your address book. If there's no address available, you can select Add Recipient at the bottom of the Address Book page to add a new address.

Tap Add Recipient > select Recipient Type > choose the network > paste the address > Next > Enter Address Name > Save Address.

If you see the prompt “Invalid address” when adding a new withdrawal address, possible reasons and solutions include:

  • Tag not filled in: Some cryptocurrencies (e.g., XRP) require a tag. Please make sure it is provided.

  • Tag-based coins require internal transfer: If you are withdrawing a tag-based coin to another OKX user, please choose OKX Users as the withdrawal method.

  • Address format mismatch: The address format does not match the selected withdrawal network. Please verify.

  • System issue: If all the above are correct, please try again later.

Under Allowlist, after selecting an address, follow the prompts to enter the Amount and tap Submit to complete the withdrawal.

Note:

  • When the Allowlist is enabled, you can only withdraw funds to addresses in the address book.

  • The advanced settings of New address withdrawal lock prevent withdrawals for 24 hours to new allowlist addresses to enhance your account security.

  • If you'd like to disable the Allowlist, you can switch it off in Address settings and enter your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) codes to confirm disable the allowlist. After it's disabled, you're able to withdraw to any new addresses.

How to disable the withdrawal whitelist:

  • Open the OKX App, go to Assets > Withdraw, and select the cryptocurrency (e.g., USDT).

  • Select the destination Address Book, tap the Address Settings button at the top right of the Address Book page, and turn off Allowlist. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification.

How to add a no-verification withdrawal address:

When you choose to verify an address in the withdrawal address book, it will be verified for 30 days by default. Select Change verification period to verify the address permanently.

  • 30 days (default):

    • Withdrawals to this address within 30 days will not require additional verification.

    • When an address is verified for 30 days, withdrawals have to be made within 30 days to maintain its verified status. If no withdrawal is made, its verification will expire and future withdrawals to this address will require security verification.

    • If a withdrawal is made, the expiry date will be extended to 30 days after the latest withdrawal date. For example, if you make a transaction at 7:00 am UTC July 4, 2024, the verification period will be extended to 7:00 am UTC August 3, 2024.

  • Permanent:

    • The allowlist is initially valid for 30 days. You can manually change it to permanent by clicking 30 days > Permanent.

    • Withdrawals to a permanent no-verification address will skip verification every time.

  • No no-verification setting:

    • If you do not select a verification period, each withdrawal will require verification.

How does this impact my existing verified addresses?

All existing verified addresses in our withdrawal address book will be placed on a 30-day verification period now. Please review these addresses and if you wish to verify them permanently, try one of the following two methods:

  • Wait until the 30-day verification expires and verify the addresses again permanently.

  • Delete the addresses and add them again as permanently verified addresses.

How to delete a withdrawal address from the Address Book:

  • Go to the Address Book, tap Settings (three dots) next to the address > Delete Address.

Notes:

  • Under Withdrawal Allowlist: You can only withdraw to addresses in the Address Book; manual input of new addresses is disabled.

  • After turning off Whitelist Mode: Manual input of new addresses is allowed again.

  • Whitelist vs. No-Verification Address: These settings are independent and do not affect each other.

  • New Address Withdrawal Lock: If New Address Lock is enabled, newly added whitelist addresses cannot be used for withdrawals for 24 hours, adding extra security.
